Life Packages Overview

Life Packages offered by Spectrum Life Strategies, Inc. facilitate control over Health Care services in managing and addressing issues associated with Autism, PDD, and Asperger’s Syndrome. Insurance reimbursement is based on your plan recognizing these diagnoses as “covered” diagnoses. Unfortunately, some insurance carriers do not recognize Asperger’s and other Spectrum issues as covered by their policies. Fortunately, Life Packages does what Insurance Managed Health Care cannot – give you control over the treatment and support services YOUR system needs. Utilizing Life Packages through SLS also allows you to save insurance benefits to pay for other, more expensive Behavioral Health services, such as costs associated with medication management. Using Life Packages allows you the flexibility to maintain and work with the multiple providers with whom you may want or need to be involved.

Group Packages

Life Packages provided by Spectrum Life Strategies, Inc., occur in a group format and setting.

Each Life Package Group provides 2, 1-hour groups per month scheduled on an every other week basis. Groups will introduce collaborative skills activities with 5-8 peers of similar age and developmental skill level.  Groups will include Activities to promote:

All Groups will include processing with parents for purposes of generalizing skills to group members’ daily lives.

In addition to groups, Life Packages include scheduling an hour-long appointment with a SLS Therapist to address issues specific to the family or child’s circumstances.  Services can include:

All Life Packages also include up to a total of 1 hour per month of phone consults. All groups run during the school year.

SLS recognizes that treatment evolves and changes over time and will make every effort to modify treatment, as needed, to address these issues. Also, additional therapy services are available beyond Life Package Groups. We recommend you discuss any questions you have about additional services with SLS so that we can assist you in obtaining the treatment you need.
